After-Hours AI Reception
Annie, MedReception AI's after-hours receptionist, answers every call the moment it arrives. She gathers patient information and reason for contact, then routes urgent cases to your on-call provider or schedules callbacks for morning. No voicemail tag, no missed opportunities. Intake data arrives as a structured summary your staff can review and file.

Voicemail is a dead end. Annie picks up instantly, gathers the caller's reason and context, and either routes the call or schedules a callback. Your on-call provider gets a page with real information, not a cryptic voicemail tag. Routine calls are logged and waiting for your morning team, not lost in a full inbox.
You set the rules: which symptoms or keywords trigger an immediate page to the on-call provider, which calls can wait for morning, and how many escalation attempts happen before a callback is scheduled. Annie follows your protocol every time, at 2 AM the same way as at 2 PM.
Every caller provides information during the call: name, date of birth, reason for contact, and chief complaint. Annie returns a structured, EMR-pasteable summary to your team. Staff review and file it, or your on-call provider acts on it immediately. Insurance information, allergies, medications, and clinical details are captured as a summary for your team to review and enter into your chart, no second call needed to gather basics.
Your escalation rules, your on-call roster, your callback window, your triage keywords, your specialty intake forms: all built into Annie during onboarding. We do not ship a generic after-hours bot. Your team gets white-glove setup and FREE LIFETIME edits if your on-call schedule, routing, or intake questions change.

You define urgent during setup. Annie listens for keywords and symptoms you specify (chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, etc.), and also routes based on caller context (existing patient vs. new, repeat caller). When a call meets your urgency criteria, she pages your on-call provider immediately with the caller's name, reason, and callback number. Your on-call provider decides whether to answer or call back.
You set the escalation chain during onboarding. Annie can page a second provider, leave a voicemail, or offer the caller a callback during business hours. The call is always logged with full context, so your morning team knows what happened and can follow up.
No. Annie answers immediately and begins intake on the call. If she needs to escalate to the on-call provider, she stays on the line or offers to call the patient back within a few minutes. Routine calls are logged instantly; no hold, no waiting for a callback slot.
Yes. If a call is routine, Annie can offer the caller a morning appointment slot or a callback time. The appointment books into your calendar (if you use one of our integrated EMRs) or is logged as a callback task for your staff. Callers choose the time when possible.
Launch takes about one week from signup. Your on-call roster, escalation rules, and intake forms are configured during onboarding by our team. Your phone number and EMR connection are ready in 1 to 3 days. If you want callers to text you, registering the number for texting takes about 5 business days.
