EMR Integration

Which intake data writes back to your EMR and what stays in the portal?

AI intake captures multiple data types. Appointment details, demographics, and insurance are synced to your EMR. Clinical history, symptoms, and questionnaire responses are returned as structured summaries for staff review and filing.

How it pays back

No double-entry of demographics

Appointment, name, DOB, phone, and address sync directly to your EMR from the intake call. Staff verify, not re-type.

Clinical data stays under your control

Medical history, chief complaint, allergies, and medications arrive as a structured summary. Your staff review for accuracy before filing to the chart. This protects data integrity and ensures your documentation standards.

Insurance and ID handled securely

Insurance information and ID photos are captured, encrypted, and uploaded to the portal. Staff download and verify, keeping sensitive ID data out of your EMR until necessary.

One integration supports your whole workflow

Appointments, demographics, and summary data flow through a single integration. No separate portals or manual exports needed.

Frequently asked questions

Does the AI write insurance information to the EMR?

No. Insurance details and policy numbers are captured during the intake call and uploaded to the MedReception portal. Staff review the information, verify coverage, and enter insurance into your EMR according to your workflow. This keeps sensitive data compartmentalized.

What about driver's license or photo ID?

Photo ID is captured during the call and securely uploaded to the portal. Staff download the image for identity verification and retention. The ID photo does not auto-populate your EMR.

Does the AI create clinical documentation in the chart?

No. The AI captures chief complaint, medical history, allergies, medications, and responses to custom questions on the call. This information is returned as a structured, pasteable summary. Your staff review and file it into the chart according to your documentation standards and provider preferences.

Which EMR systems does MedReception integrate with?

MedReception integrates with athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Epic, Elation, Cerbo, Hint, Tebra, AdvancedMD, and ModMed. Check the integrations page or contact sales for your specific system.

Can we customize which data auto-syncs to the EMR?

Yes. Work with the MedReception team to map your EMR fields. You choose which intake data auto-syncs (e.g., chief complaint, appointment type, urgency flag) versus what's returned as a summary for manual filing.
