How ModMed Ortho, Pain, and Podiatry modules use specialty-configured AI intake and scheduling

ModMed specialty users (Ortho, Pain, Podiatry) get AI intake and scheduling built for their workflows—surgery history, injection details, pain scales—all captured conversationally and returned as structured summaries ready for chart review and filing.

How it pays back

Specialty Intake, Not Generic

Orthopedic AI asks about prior surgeries and mechanism of injury. Pain management AI asks about injection history and current pain management. Podiatry AI asks about footwear, gait, and prior treatments. Each intake is tailored to what your specialty needs to know.

ModMed Module Integration

Appointments and patient demographics are written to your ModMed Ortho, Pain, or Podiatry module. Intake summaries—including surgery history, injection details, pain scales, and functional limitations—are returned as structured, EMR-pasteable summaries for your staff to review and file. Your workflows remain unchanged; the data just arrives pre-organized.

Reduce Appointment Delays

When a patient calls with a complex history (prior surgery, failed treatment, multiple injections), the AI captures all of it during intake. Your clinician has the full picture before the visit—no chart review delays or missing context.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to choose between Ortho, Pain, or Podiatry AI?

No. If you run multiple ModMed modules, the AI is configured to detect which module a caller needs based on your phone routing and practice setup. You can have one AI that routes correctly to each specialty or configure separate flows per location.

Can the AI ask about specific conditions (rotator cuff, lumbar radiculopathy, etc.)?

Yes. You configure the conditions and symptoms the AI asks about. For orthopedics, you might ask about joint-specific pain (shoulder, knee, lower back); for pain management, about current treatments and injection sites; for podiatry, about foot/ankle symptoms and footwear.

How does pain scale capture work?

The AI asks the patient to rate pain on a scale (typically 0–10) and captures that response, along with any context (location, worse with activity, relief with treatment). That information is returned in the structured summary for your staff to review and file into the chart.

What if a patient needs to schedule a procedure or injection follow-up?

The AI is trained to recognize procedure-related calls and flags them in the intake summary. Your staff can prioritize those bookings or route them to a provider quickly. ModMed appointment notes can be pre-populated with 'Post-injection follow-up' or 'Post-surgical visit' to help your team triage quickly.
