Interventional pain intake captures MRI, imaging reports, and prior procedure records during the call—no chase-down required

Interventional pain procedures require imaging review. Patients often don't know they need to bring records. MedReception asks for imaging during intake, guides patients to upload through the patient portal, and flags incomplete records so your staff can request them before the appointment.

How it pays back

No appointment day surprises with missing imaging

Imaging requests happen on the intake call, not at check-in. If a patient doesn't have reports, you have days to request them or order new imaging.

Clinical staff review imaging before seeing patient

When imaging is uploaded during the intake phase, your provider can review findings before the consultation. Preparation time increases, visit efficiency improves.

Reduces callback burden on front desk

Instead of staff calling patients repeatedly to request missing records, the AI sends the portal link once and your system tracks completion. Front desk only calls if records remain missing 48 hours before appointment.

Prior procedure history available for comparison

When patients upload prior imaging or procedure notes, your provider can compare current pain presentation to prior interventions and imaging progression.

Frequently asked questions

Can patients upload actual MRI or CT images, or just reports?

Both. The patient portal accepts PDF reports, images in JPG or PNG format, and DICOM files if available. Your staff can download all uploads and review them or attach them to your EMR summary for the provider.

What if a patient says they don't have prior imaging?

The AI notes this and alerts your staff. Your team can determine whether new imaging is needed before the appointment or if the consultation can proceed without it. For complex cases, you may request imaging in advance.

How long does it take for uploaded images to show up in your system?

Uploads are available immediately in the MedReception portal and can be downloaded by your staff right away. You can review them during the intake call follow-up or print them for the provider before the patient arrives.

What happens if a patient uploads the wrong records or incomplete imaging?

Your staff reviews uploads and can contact the patient immediately if records are incomplete or don't match the case. Because this happens during the intake phase, not appointment day, there's time to get correct records.

Can we automatically request imaging from external radiology centers?

MedReception doesn't directly request imaging from outside facilities, but your staff can use the imaging status flagged in the system to prioritize outreach to radiology centers or the patient's primary care provider. The AI summary tells you exactly what's needed.
