Configuration

Configure intake questions by specialty so your AI receptionist asks what matters for your practice

Orthopedics asks different questions than psychiatry. Dermatology differs from pediatrics. AI intake can be customized per specialty so the right data is captured the first time.

How it pays back

Relevant Data Captured First Call

Specialty-specific questions mean you get the details that matter for your provider and practice. No wasted time on irrelevant fields.

Faster Appointment Decisions

When a caller needs an urgent visit or specific exam, the AI captures the relevant history immediately, helping staff triage faster.

Fewer Follow-Up Questions

Because the right questions are asked upfront, staff review structured summaries with the relevant details captured during the call. Clinical time stays focused on care.

Specialties Configure Independently

Multi-specialty groups can set different intake workflows per department. Orthopedics and neurology each get their tailored questions.

Frequently asked questions

How do we set up custom intake questions?

Work with the MedReception team during onboarding. We review your specialty and workflows, then configure the AI to ask the questions most relevant for your practice. Changes can be made anytime.

Can we change the questions as our practice evolves?

Yes. Your configuration is not static. If you need to add, remove, or modify intake questions, contact support and we'll update the system.

What if we're a multi-specialty group?

Each specialty or department can have its own intake configuration. A caller to the orthopedic line hears different questions than a caller to the neurology line.

How long should custom intake take?

Most specialty-tailored intake questions take 2–4 minutes to ask and answer conversationally. The goal is efficiency without sacrificing relevance.

Can we include conditional questions?

Yes. For example, if a caller says they're calling about a skin lesion, follow-up questions can dig deeper into duration, changes, and symptoms. The AI adjusts questions based on patient responses.
