Intake & Triage

Capture rash, lesion, and post-procedure concerns in a structured format and route by severity

During intake, the AI asks about rash location, duration, spread, itching, or post-procedure changes. Based on answers, the call is routed to the appropriate provider tier or urgent queue.

How it pays back

Clinical intake happens on the phone, not in the waiting room

Providers see structured history before the patient walks in; chair time focuses on exam and treatment.

Accurate severity sorting reduces queue time

High-acuity cases are flagged and moved to urgent slots; routine cases are scheduled in routine blocks.

Fewer clinician questions during the visit

Intake data is complete and ready for the provider to review before the patient arrives.

Compliance with standard history documentation

Structured intake ensures all relevant history is captured and documented consistently across the practice.

Structured intake captured on call

Chief complaint, duration, location, spread, itching, prior treatments all recorded

Routed by clinical severity

Rule-out cancer, post-procedure, acute, or chronic workflows trigger appropriate next steps

Intake summary for EMR filing

Staff review and approve the structured summary; it becomes part of the chart

Pre-visit summary ready for provider

Provider sees full intake before the patient arrives, no delay during the visit

Frequently asked questions

What questions does the AI ask during intake?

Standard dermatology questions: When did it start? Where is it? Is it spreading? Does it itch? Have you had this before? Have you tried any treatments? Any recent changes (new soap, medication, sun exposure)? You can customize these questions per workflow (new vs. follow-up, cosmetic vs. medical).

Can the AI route based on the answers?

Yes. You configure routing rules: if the patient says 'new mole that's bleeding,' route to the Mohs surgeon or urgent queue. If 'chronic rash on hands,' route to medical dermatology. If 'post-filler swelling,' route to urgent follow-up. The AI applies these rules and routes automatically.

What happens to the intake data after the call?

The AI sends a structured summary to your staff. Staff review it for accuracy, make any edits, and approve it to be filed in the EMR chart. This becomes the official history of present illness for the visit.

Does this work for new and follow-up patients?

Yes. New patient intakes are full histories. Follow-up intakes ask about interval changes and symptom progression. You can configure separate workflows for each visit type.

What if a patient's answer doesn't fit the routing rules?

The AI escalates to staff for live triage or routes to a default provider. Staff can adjust the routing rules over time based on feedback.
